There are some requirements that need to be adhered to when selling fish or other items at super auctions, as follows:
Bagging of fish. Use only proper fish bags NOT freezer bags. Be sure there is adequate air in the bag as the fish will be in the bag for some hours. If you need bags they can be purchased from the GCAS shop on the night.
Rebagging A charge of $1.00 per bag will be incurred if rebagging is necessary.
Fish size The minimum size for fish to be auctioned is 25 mm standard length. For smaller species the minimum is 1/3 adult size.
Maximum number of bags There is a limit of three bags per variety with a maximum of ten bags per species.
Electrical goods sold at auction are sold in 'as is' condition. Any that are sold by the vendor as in good working order must have an electrician's tag to state that they have been checked and deemed safe. GCAS accepts no liability for defective items.
The winning bidder's choice Where there are multiple bags of the same item offered for sale, the winning bidder has the choice of which and how many he/she wants. The remaining bags, if any, will be offered to unsuccessful bidders at the same price.
Driftwood and Rocks There is a limit of three each per vendor. However several pieces may be bundled together as one item. This way you can sell more than just three pieces.
Reserves may be put on any items offered for sale. Items not reaching reserve price at auction will be offered for sale once again at the end of the auction at this time vendors may change their reserve on unsold items
